Though reminiscent … Read more Unusual and sculptural silver-plated vessel produced by Fornari Roma, Italy, retaining the original maker’s label to the underside. Though reminiscent of a traditional chamber pot form, this piece was likely intended as a decorative cachepot, wine cooler, or novelty serving vessel. The rounded body is paired with a wide rolled rim and a simple loop side handle, creating a restrained modernist silhouette characteristic of mid-century Italian metalwork. The polished silver-plated finish has developed a rich aged patina that enhances its utilitarian yet elegant appearance. The underside bears the original “FORNARI ROMA” label with stylized monogram. Vintage condition with heavy surface wear, scratches, tarnish, oxidation, rubbing, and discoloration throughout consistent with age and use. Areas of plate wear and spotting visible.
