This is a Great Looking and Very Unusual Set of Authentic Antique American Shipboard Blacksmiths Bellows. Circa Mid 19th Century. … Read more This is a Great Looking and Very Unusual Set of Authentic Antique American Shipboard Blacksmiths Bellows. Circa Mid 19th Century. Back in the Day Some of the Larger Sailing Vessels were known to actually Have a Designated Ships Blacksmith For Repairs Etc. while they were on their Long often Transatlantic Journeys. They are Completely Hand Made - Bench Made Out of Indigenous North American Hardwood - Possibly Maple with a Hand Wrought Iron Nozzle. They Have a Wonderful Hand Oil Painted Folk Art Style American Eagle as well as a Tall Ship on the Ocean - Possibly a Rendition of the Actual Ship that They Were Used On. There is a Partially Obscured Embossed Possibly Bellows Maker or Possibly Ship Name Between the Eagle Claws and Top of Ships Center Mast - Possibly J. SAWYER ? - See Photographs in my Listing. They Have have Seen Much Use Over the Years and they have a Wonderfully Authentic Old Look - Display Very Nicely. PLEASE NOTE - However. that the Leather is Very Worn - Weathered - Stiff Damaged Etc. so THEY ARE NOT FUNCTIONAL.
