Edward Hopper is best known for his atmospheric and cinematic images, often permeated with a sense of loneliness, separation, and unresolved longing. The world seen through a window—as if to emphasize distance—the effective use of mood-creating light and shadow, and his bright, strong colors are all characteristic elements. Originally introduced to Danish audiences through a landmark exhibition at Louisiana in 1992, Hopper has since become beloved for his ability to transform everyday American scenes into something deeply evocative. This anniversary poster, featuring Cape Cod Morning (1950), was originally published in connection with Louisiana's 1992 Hopper exhibition and reprinted to mark Louisiana's 60th anniversary in 2018.
