An elegant and refined pair of antique bud vases, each combining a slender etched glass tube with a weighted sterling silver base — the quintessential form for a single rose or delicate bloom on a Victorian or Edwardian dining table.
The sterling collar encircling the base of each glass is beautifully reticulated with pierced lancet-arch cutouts in a Gothic-inspired geometric pattern, adding decorative interest at precisely the right scale. The stepped domed base grounds each piece with quiet authority.
The glass inserts are delicately etched with diagonal linear decoration and finished with a ruffled crimped rim — a hallmark of fine glasswork from the turn of the 20th century.
