Slatted oak bench. Designed by Yngvar Sandström for Nordiska Kompaniet in the 1960s. Original label present.
"Tokyo" bench designed by Yngvar Sandström for NK – Nordiska Kompaniet in the second half of the 1960s. The solid oak frame is distinguished by the linear rhythm of the slats and the ring-shaped design of the legs. The curved profile of the base joint introduces a more sculptural and international sensibility compared to the more rigorous Nordic minimalism, reflecting the openness of 1960s Scandinavian design towards Japanese influences and organic forms. Original manufacturer label present under the seat.
