A 19th Century French Napoleon III marquetry box, hand-crafted of walnut and burl veneers with ebonized trim. Fine mother-of-pearl and brass inlay medallion on lid, perfect for monogramming. The interior is lined in tufted red silk. Working lock and small key. Good craftsmanship, similar to the fine quality boxes made by Tajan, Paris. In good condition with minor losses. Silk isgood condition . Circa 1880-1900.
