Maurice Pitot was a Belgian ceramist born in 1926 in Châtelineau and died in 2010. He belongs to the Bouffioulx stoneware tradition, an important center of pottery and artistic ceramics in Wallonia.

Active primarily from the 1950s to the 1970s, he created vases, bowls, and decorative objects in glazed stoneware, recognizable by their flowing glazes in shades of blue, green, brown, or black. His work is part of the post-war revival of Belgian artistic stoneware, inherited from the artisanal traditions of Bouffioulx. This piece has an attribution mark,
