The rounded, strictly proportioned silhouette with its slender neck is framed by a continuous, hand-carved relief of lines, which, in rhythmic, subtly varying horizontal bands, emphasizes the three-dimensional depth of the ceramic body.

The dark, matte engobe with warm brown undertones intensifies the graphic contrast between the raised and recessed areas. This controlled, material-conscious surface treatment is typical of Kumpmann's work from the 1960s and 1970s, during which she increasingly employed reduced color palettes, clear structures, and highly vitrified, densely sintered ceramic bodies.
