According to the previous owner, this charming tabletop vitrine came from an optician’s shop, where it would likely have been used to display spectacles, optical accessories, or other delicate objects on a counter or display table.

The cabinet features a tambour roll-top door that slides upward to reveal a slanted glass display compartment, allowing items to be attractively presented while remaining protected. Beneath the display sits a lockable drawer, which can be secured together with the roll-top using the original locking mechanism.

Crafted from walnut wood, the piece has developed a warm aged patina over time and is finished with traditional beer paint, creating an attractive timeworn surface with authentic craquelé details.
