This expressive vase by Uwe Schellbach from the 1990s combines an amphora form with the reduction glaze technique, lending the piece an archaic, sculptural presence. Fine craquelure lines emerge from the dark, metallic-shimmering surface, creating a dynamic network of light lines and revealing reddish and turquoise-green areas.
This combination of the reduction-induced color intensity and characteristic craquelure formation gives the vase a unique material depth and makes it a striking example of experimental German studio ceramics from the 1990s. This piece has an attribution mark,
