An elegant pair of late 19th century French cast iron garden urns which display a Neoclassical taste in their profile, given a unique painted verdigris finish over the metal. A rim of egg & dart motif flares out over the wall of the flute that tapers into a gadrooned midsection, in the "Medici urn" silhouette. The slender foot is mounted on a square plinth base for stability. Their surfaces retain much of the green paint which has softened by age and exposure, patinated to areas of rusty oxidation and scattered wear. In the spirit of timeless French and English gardens, these urns bring historic charm and presence to any garden, patio, or interior. Sold as a pair. Please view the detailed images as they are an essential part of the product description.
