From the landmark Rookery Mounds series of 11 lithographs
this is a striking example of Rauschenberg’s innovative approach to combining photography and lithography in the late 1970s. Prints from the Rookery Mounds series (1979) are represented in major institutional collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Walker Art Center, Reynolda House Museum of American Art, and the Gund Gallery at Kenyon College, among others.
