From the landmark Rookery Mounds series of 11 lithographs
this is a striking example of Rauschenberg’s innovative approach to combining photography and lithography in the late 1970s. Prints from the Rookery Mounds series (1979) are represented in major institutional collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), Walker Art Center, Reynolda House Museum of American Art, and the Gund Gallery at Kenyon College, among others.
Perfect for a collector of modern masters, Pop Art, or museum-quality prints.
This is a 3-color lithograph (dark brown, beige, and blue) on Twinrocker handmade deckle-edged paper. Hand-signed and numbered 10/50 in pencil by the artist. Published by Gemini G.E.L., Los Angeles, and bearing their embossed blindstamp (publisher’s chop mark) in the lower margin, as shown.
