The work depicts a picturesque lakeside setting: a promontory is dominated by several houses, dominated by a characteristic circular building, an architectural element evoking the charm of an ancient mausoleum or rural oratory. The style of the figures animating the landscape and the patina of time confirm the period of the work, conveying the idyllic atmosphere typical of the 18th-century countryside. The painting is enclosed in a magnificent 19th-century circular frame, finely shaped with sloping flounces. The pure gold leaf gilding reveals, in areas of natural wear, the presence of red bole: a technical detail that certifies its authenticity and the 19th-century dating of the frame. It should be noted that round frames are very expensive due to the greater complexity of their production compared to a more common square or rectangular frame.
