For your consideration, a carved wood sculpture of Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec god known as the "Feathered Serpent".

The carving shows the serpent's head emerging from a feathered ruff, with a design similar to architectural elements found in Teotihuacan or other Mesoamerican sites.
Artist unknown, carved from a palm tree wood. Original patina. French clip allows easy placement into the wall.
