This refined modular composition exemplifies McCobb’s celebrated minimalist approach through its clean linear geometry, visual lightness, and functional versatility. The design consists of a lower writing table with a slender matte black iron frame and exposed floating drawers, paired with an upper maple cabinet featuring open shelving, suspended organizer drawers, and a drop-front secretary compartment concealing additional storage.

Executed in warm maple with contrasting black iron supports, the desk retains the restrained sophistication and architectural balance that made the Planner Group one of the defining American modern furniture collections of the mid-century period.

The original “Planner Group by Winchendon” manufacturer marking is present on the exterior side of one of the lower drawers.

An exceptional and increasingly collectible example of early American modern design suitable for both residential and designer interiors.
