Large Italian wall mirror produced by Santambrogio & De Berti, Lissone, and dated October 22nd, 1965, as documented by the original manufacturer’s label preserved on the reverse. The paper label, bearing the “Cuivroglace – Specchio Galvoramato” mark together with the company’s logo and production stamp, provides an exceptional level of authenticity rarely found intact on pieces of this period. An important decorative work distinguished by its impressive scale, refined craftsmanship, and strong sculptural presence. The mirror is framed by hand-worked and hand-hammered copper panels, each individually embossed with abstract geometric motifs. The composition alternates symmetrical linear engravings, radial forms, and stylized architectural patterns, creating a richly textured surface deeply rooted in the Italian modernist and early brutalist aesthetic of the 1960s. The copper has developed a beautiful dark patina over time, with subtle tonal variations and visible hammering marks that emphasize the artisanal quality of the piece. The relief work catches light differently from every angle, giving the frame a dynamic and almost architectural appearance. Particularly striking are the deeply pressed geometric modules, each uniquely designed yet perfectly balanced within the overall composition. Especially rare due to its large dimensions and remarkable state of preservation, the mirror retains both its original glass and original handcrafted copper structure. The combination of scale, condition, and fully preserved manufacturer’s label makes this an unusually complete and collectible example of Italian decorative arts from the mid-1960s. An exceptional statement piece, equally suitable for mid-century modern, brutalist, or contemporary interiors. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
