First American Edition of Arthur Conan Doyle's "THE LOST WORLD". Published in 1912 by Hodder & Stoughton / George H. Doran Co. The book has cloth covered hard board covers with gilt title and author as well as gilt spine. There are 16 Illustrations. The condition is compete and good. There is edge wear to the cover from handling. The illustrations have caused discoloring to some adjacent pages. The edge of most pages show some discoloration of about 1/16 to 1/8 inch from outer edge. See photos for some examples. More photos are available. The book measures 5.5" w x 8" h x 1.5" thick. There are 309 pages.
Conan Doyle is most noted for the Sherlock Holmes series of books he authored and made into numerous movies in and TV shows. THE LOST WORLD wass also made into a number of movies by the title and influenced a number of similar movies.
