Kayser for Vatne Lenestolfabrikk. … Read more This iconic Scandinavian Modern piece of Norwegian design is the Loveseat Model 771, by Fredrik A. Kayser for Vatne Lenestolfabrikk. Celebrated for its sculptural curves, elegant arm rests and double saddled, curved backrest, this loveseat appears to float within it's rosewood frame. It is newly upholstered in a cream tweed. Kayser was a carpenter by trade who's first design was mass-produced at the young age of 15. He went on to a noteworthy career in furnishings. His furniture is characterized by elegant design and material sensitivity, with a great sense of proportion and composition. Launched in 1960, the Model 711 design famously won first prize at the Industry Council for Furniture and Furnishing Industry's chair competition. The arm height is 22". See less
