A member of the famed, Algonquin Round Table group of writers, Robert Benchley was both a humorist and an actor in the first half of the 20th century. This two-book collection tells his life story amongst literary legends of his time as well as presenting a large assortment of his writings from Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Chicago Tribune, and others. The anthology is illustrated with the delightful caricatures of Gloyas Williams.
The volumes: Benchley, Nathaniel "Robert Benchley", New York, Haper & Brothers, 1949 and Benchley, Robert, "Chips Off the Old Benchley", New York, McGraw Hill, 1955.
Both are in very good vintage condition with minor wear to the dust jackets.
