The soft wood used for these pieces have caused the century + old lacquer to chip, separate, and fall off. I've spoken with my restorationist, a craftsman from Korea, and he recommends someone who has expertise in Chinese art from the 1800s. These pieces came from a very affluent family in the Palm Springs area, who used them as they are. I certainly believe the weathered look is beautiful, but at the very least, there should be a treatment that prevents any further damage from occurring. I'm selling these for a 5th of what the value is restored, which gives plenty financial room for the buyer to preserve these pieces to their preferences. less
