A charming, authentic pair of hand-painted French faience pottery pieces from the historic HenRiot Quimper pottery in Brittany, France. Dating to the mid-20th century, this set beautifully showcases the classic Breton folk art aesthetic with its vibrant, multi-colored botanicals and rich yellow and cobalt blue bands.
While the teapot features the beloved traditional motif of a single Breton woman carrying flowers, the coordinating egg cup boasts a highly unusual and collectible variation: a Breton couple dancing together. This harder-to-find figural scene makes the egg cup an exceptional standalone piece for a Quimper collection.
Both pieces feature genuine, hand-painted factory signatures: the teapot is signed HenRiot Quimper France 57 directly under the handle, and the egg cup features the painter's initials o.L alongside the factory mark and decor numbers (D. 015) on the base.

Moderate wear consistent with age, material, and traditional studio manufacturing methods. • Egg Cup: Structurally sound with no chips or cracks. Features minor, faint glaze crazing visible upon close inspection, which is standard for vintage earthenware of this period. The inside of the cup has also yellowed with age. • Teapot: The main body and structural handle are completely intact and stable. True to the rustic, hand-glazed nature of mid-century Quimper production, the body features many small pinholes and glaze skips from the original firing where the glaze did not fully cover the clay. There is visible chipping and localized glaze loss concentrated directly around the outer rim of the spout (see detailed close-up photos). The unglazed base shows expected shelf wear and light coloration from age. less
