This elegant and unusual Italian Renaissance style console and matching mirror likely date to the 1940s. The wood frames are finished with period lacquer and the console supports the original 3/4” thick glass top.
The 1/4” thick mirror glass features a deeply etched glass and hand-painted border and a deeply etched glass and hand-painted Italianate portrait with etched necklace and hair jewelry. The round mirror is set within an unusual square wood frame that matches the console.
The portrait is after Italian Renaissance artist Piero del Pollaiuolo, c. 1470, Florence, Italy.
