This is a beautifully crafted vintage mid-20th-century Israeli sterling silver mezuzah case, designed in the iconic Bezalel style. The front features an incredibly intricate panels of hand-applied Yemenite-style wire filigree and tight scrollwork detailing. Centered on the upper portion is a bold, polished, applique-style Hebrew letter Shin (ש), symbolizing Shomer Daltot Yisrael (Guardian of the Doors of Israel).
The case is constructed with a classic half-cylindrical arched front and features its original, fully intact sliding flat backplate for easy insertion of a parchment scroll. Small pierced mounting loops are integrated into the top and bottom pointed apexes for secure installation on a doorpost. The lower backplate area is crisp and clearly hallmarked.

Excellent Vintage Condition. The intricate filigree work is completely intact with no broken wires, crushed segments, or missing details.
Surface: Features a gorgeous, natural unpolished age patina with characteristic tarnish in the deep recesses of the scrollwork, highlighting the exceptional depth of the craftsmanship. We choose to leave vintage silver in its original, as-found state; will polish beautifully if desired.
Mechanics: The original sliding backplate operates smoothly and fits snugly. No parchment scroll is included.
