A striking handwoven wire sculpture executed in the spirit of Ruth Asawa, featuring an elongated cascading form composed of interconnected bulbous volumes suspended in perfect balance. Crafted entirely by hand using an intricate looping wire technique, the piece demonstrates the delicate tension between transparency, structure, and movement that made Asawa’s work so iconic.
The warm copper-toned wire gives the sculpture an organic glow, while the open weave construction creates constantly shifting shadows and dimensionality throughout the day. Its vertical silhouette draws the eye upward, making it an exceptional statement piece for interiors that embrace modernism, California craft, wabi-sabi minimalism, or sculptural design.
Both airy and architectural, the work feels almost weightless despite its impressive scale. Beautiful suspended in a corner, stairwell, or above a console where its form can be appreciated from multiple perspectives.
A highly decorative sculptural object that functions equally as art and atmosphere.
Please note: this piece is entirely handmade using a labor-intensive woven wire technique. Minor irregularities, asymmetry, variation in tension, and slight imperfections are inherent to the process and should be considered part of the character and artistry of the work rather than defects.
