Antique English petite footman stool dating to the late 18th or early 19th century, featuring a hand-worked copper body with brass trim, floral rosettes, and swan-neck side handles. The stool retains a beautifully aged patina with rich warmth and character developed over centuries of use.
The body appears to be Georgian-era, while the decorative brass legs are later 19th-century replacements, added long ago and well integrated into the piece’s history. The combination gives it a sculptural, collected look that works beautifully in traditional, English country, primitive, or layered eclectic interiors.
Originally used near the hearth as a foot warmer or fireside stool, it now makes an excellent decorative accent beside a fireplace, under a console, or styled with stacked books and antique brass.
Condition consistent with age and use, including surface wear, oxidation, scratches, and age-related imperfections that add to its authentic antique appeal. Structurally stable.
