With its elongated silhouette, mineral-worn surface, and traces of faded script, this sculptural vessel draws from the visual language of ancient Judaean storage amphorae once scattered across desert trade routes and hillside settlements throughout the southern Levant.

The form was intentionally kept restrained and architectural. Narrow at the neck, weightier through the body, and softened by erosion-like textures that give the impression of an artifact uncovered rather than produced. The handwritten markings reference fragmented manuscript traditions associated with the Judean desert, where text, ritual, and daily life often intersected in objects both functional and ceremonial.

Finished in layered terracotta washes with chalk-like mineral deposits and smoke-toned aging, the piece carries the feeling of excavated stone and sunbaked clay weathered over centuries.

Designed as a standalone sculptural object or pedestal vessel for interior placement. See less
