Wow!This 19th century jewelry box is exquisite!It's Made Of papier mâché with a black lacquered finish.The exterior is hand carved with mother-of-pearl inlay and hand painted abalone gold leaf.Inside has gorgeous hand painted floral designs on each door and the lid.There are four drawers and a lift out top shelf- all are paper and silk velvet lined.The drawer pulls are made of delicately carved ivory.This is a fantastic example of 19th century expert craftsmanship!
