Offered is a coffee service set comprised of a coffee pot, a sugar bowl with lid, a 32 oz. milk jug or creamer, and six (6) flat cups with matching saucers that form part of the dishwasher-proof oven-to-table "Ruska" dinnerware pattern designed by Ulla Procopé for Arabia in 1960 (and first released in 1968). Done in deep earthy tones of a mottled and speckled brown semi-matte glaze, "ruska" is the Finnish term for the autumnal colors when the foliage changes before blanketing the ground, and these serving pieces have a smooth surface and are all slightly different in appearance resembling handcrafted studio pottery even though they were industrially manufactured.
Ulla Procopé (1921 - 1968) was one of Finland's leading ceramic designers of the 20th century who left an indelible impact on Scandinavian design. She joined Arabia, the Finnish producer of fine ceramic tableware in 1948 and designed several innovative and popular lines of ceramic products.
The set of 15 pieces includes:
The coffee pot measures 4.25" in diameter, 8.5" in width across from its spout to tip of handle, and 7" in height. With its 1.5" H lid on, it measures 7.75" tall.
A 32 oz. milk jug or creamer that is: 5" in diameter, 5.5" tall.
A ramekin or sugar bowl with lid that is: 4" in diameter, 2.125" in height, and with the lid, 3.25" in height.
6 flat cups: 4'' in diameter, 5" across from the rim to the tip of the handle, H 2.125'' in height.
6 saucers: 6.25'' in diameter, 0.875" in height

There are no discernible nicks, chips, fleabites, cracks, or crazing. Only one of the saucers bears an Arabia maker's mark on the bottom. The rest have worn off with years of washing. Two of the saucer surfaces have minor defects on their glazed surfaces (see photos). Any imperfections in their craftsmanship are innate, and any wear is commensurate with the age and past usage of the pieces of stoneware. less
