Handcrafted and signed ceramic vase by Hubertus Menzel with an organic, sculptural form and characteristic flowing glaze in blue-green, black, and earth tones. Made in Germany in the 1970s, this piece exemplifies the combination of reduced formal language and experimental glazing techniques typical of West German studio ceramics.
Especially decorative as a standalone piece or in combination with minimalist and wabi-sabi-inspired interiors.
Hubertus Menzel worked in Heidewinkel near Helmstedt and is considered part of the German studio ceramics movement of the post-war period. His works are relatively rare today. This piece has an attribution mark,
