Originally sourced from a monastery in France, this extra-long bench combines practical storage with a restrained and functional design.

The bench is primarily crafted from pine wood, while the structural frame and legs are made of solid oak, providing strength and stability. The seat consists of four hinged sections, opening to reveal integrated storage compartments beneath.

Its long proportions, straight backrest, and simple construction reflect the utilitarian character of early communal furniture. The wood has developed a naturally aged surface with visible wear and patina consistent with age and use.

Please note: the bench contains old woodworm holes, which are common in antique softwood furniture of this age. The piece has been treated preventively and is suitable for everyday use.
