Frankoma #72 Cylinder Vase is often called the "Ringed Tower" vase. The earthy, ribbed mid-century pottery is glazed in Frankoma's signature dual-tone green and brown finish which is famously called "Prairie Green". The glaze is applied so that it runs thinner over the ridges, allowing the warmer, brownish clay underneath to show through perfectly.
Frankoma was based in Oklahoma and utilized local Oklahoma clay to produce its pottery. The clay on the bottom of this piece is bright red which indicates that it was made in Sapulpa, Oklahoma after 1954.
