Pair of vintage brass Chinese immortal lanterns featuring intricate pierced figural scenes with scholars and bamboo motifs. Made in China circa 1960s-1980s, these decorative lanterns reflect the enduring popularity of chinoiserie and Asian-inspired décor during the Hollywood Regency and grandmillennial design movements. Lids twist off for use with votive candles, incense cones, or LED lights, creating beautiful ambient glow through the openwork brass. Lovely styled on a tea table, bookshelf, meditation space, or dark academia interior.
