This English ceramic tankard is in the Silver Shield pattern, an Art Deco design by Arthur Wood in the 1930s. For those who are drawn to monochromatic schemes, this distinctive gray and white abstract faux-bois wood grain transfer pattern is highlighted by silver bands and an embossed silver medal. The handles have a painted horn/stag effect. Stamped on the underside.
I have several pieces of the tea and coffee service listed separately. Actually my favorite all-time English pattern.
