This is a fantastic Italian ceramic ashtray in the iconic Rimini Blue glaze associated with Bitossi and designer Aldo Londi. This square ceramic piece features deeply impressed geometric motifs with rich variations of cobalt, turquoise, and teal glazing throughout. The textured surface and earthy volcanic glaze effects are classic examples of mid-century Italian art pottery from the 1960s–1970s era.
Marked “747 ITALY” on the underside, which is the markings for the Bitossi / Aldo Londi “Rimini Blu” collection. This works as an ashtray, catchall, vide-poche, or small decorative object on a cocktail table or shelf or part of a collected set. The vivid blue glaze makes it an excellent accent piece in mid-century, modernist, or eclectic interiors. Good vintage condition
