These tables are crafted from authentic wooden hatch covers (or "hatch boards") originally used on World War II Liberty ships.

The Ships: Liberty ships were mass-produced cargo vessels that served as the backbone of the Allied supply chain during the 1940s. Over 2,700 were built to withstand harsh North Atlantic conditions.

The Covers: Each ship had roughly 400 hatch doors used to provide access to cargo areas. These covers protected cargo by being sealed with tarps to keep out water.
