It dates from the middle of the 19th century and has a very unusual decoration of a flower in three different colors of slip. On the border with Switzerland and Italy, Savoie is known for its wine and cheeses and for world class skiing. Savoie pottery is highly collectable because of its vibrant multi color decoration. This one is unusual in that it has a floral motif where most Savoie pottery decoration is either geometric or overall.
