Tufts bride’s basket in richly detailed quadruple silverplate, crafted in Boston during the height of the Aesthetic Movement. This exceptional piece features an intricately engraved interior with songbirds, butterflies, florals, and flowing botanical vines rendered in a distinctly Japonisme-inspired pattern — a hallmark of the era’s fascination with Japanese art and naturalistic design.

Raised on ornate openwork feet with its original sculptural swing handle intact, the basket possesses beautiful form and presence from every angle. The naturally aged patina enhances the dimensional engraving and gives the piece a moody, museum-like quality that works beautifully in layered traditional, dark academia, maximalist, or collected interiors.
