This exceptional gateleg drop-leaf dining table is a brilliant masterclass in space-saving engineering and mid-century british craftsmanship, manufactured by the renowned workshop jentique during the 1960s. Famed for their high-quality scandinavian-influenced furniture, jentique designed this piece to offer maximum versatility. Closed, it functions as an ultra-slim console or sideboard table; opened halfway, it easily accommodates two or three people; and when fully extended via its smooth-swinging gateleg supports, it transforms into a spacious family dining table.
crafted from premium teak wood, the tabletop showcases a beautifully figured, symmetrical grain pattern that radiates organic warmth. With its sleek, tapered legs and elegant curvilinear edges, this table is the ultimate functional centerpiece for a mid-century modern apartment, dining room, or multi-use creative space.
condition & character
the table is preserved in its original vintage condition, functioning flawlessly exactly as intended.
surface & patina: the teak wood tabletop exhibits a deep, golden-brown color tone. It shows typical signs of use, including minor surface scuffs, light scratches, and faint vintage character marks consistent with age and careful everyday dining.
mechanism & stability: the entire gateleg and drop-leaf folding system is fully functional, stable, and sturdy, locking securely into place when opened to provide a reliable dining surface.
inspection: to properly evaluate the fine grain matching, the smooth operation of the folding leaves, and the genuine vintage patina, please review the detailed photos carefully.
