A beautiful vintage nude sculpture by a. Altmann. It was made in london, england and dates from the 1960’s.
it is superbly executed in gesso, with amazing details. It is a large and impressive size, and is in excellent condition.
a. Altmann was a remarkably talented artist based in hampstead garden suburb. She created paintings and sculptures, working with marble, plaster and driftwood. She was not a working artist as far as we know, she was a housewife creating art in her spare time, much of it with a strong feminist theme. We have several of her other sculptures available, seen listed under our other items for sale.
