Antique French Art Nouveau–style bronze figural group titled La Danse des Nymphes, presented on a substantial marble base. The sculpture is described as signed and retains a label at the edge of the base noting the maker and title; however, without photo verification of the mark, it is offered here as styled after Auguste Moreau.
A dynamic two-figure composition with flowing drapery and ribbon-like movement, finished in a warm bronze patina with subtle verdigris tones. The heavy marble base gives the piece strong visual grounding, making it well-suited for a console, library shelf, or mantel where a vertical accent and sculptural silhouette are desired.
• Material: Patinated bronze on marble base
• Style: Art Nouveau
• Period: Early 1900s
• Country of Origin: France (likely)
• Attribution: Styled After Auguste Moreau
Antique piece in excellent condition for age, with light surface wear and patina consistent with age and display. The bronze presents with even toning and natural oxidation in recesses, and the marble base shows typical minor handling wear along edges consistent with an antique object. No structural issues were noted, and the sculpture remains solid and stable on its base.
