Vintage hand woven buttocks basket created by hand from twigs, including the bent handle. Dyed red reeds form the
"God's Eye" knot which binds the handle to the basket. These baskets originated in Southern United States, utilized for collecting eggs, carrying produce, or home storage.
This example exudes extraordinary rustic presence by using vines, probably grape, , which give multi-textured and multi-colored visual effect. The handle is probably braided vine as well.
The age is difficult to estimate; probably 60's.
The condition is excellent.
