This charming petite writer's desk is a refined example of late Danish Modern design, attributed to Ib Kofod-Larsen and produced by Faarup Møbelfabrik. Crafted entirely from warm teak, the desk features clean, minimalist lines with a spacious rectangular top, three dovetailed drawers on the right side, and an open storage compartment on the left—perfect for pens, notebooks, or small office essentials.
The piece exemplifies Kofod-Larsen’s signature style: elegant proportions, subtle sculptural shaping, and meticulous attention to detail. The rich teak grain is beautifully figured and displays the classic honey-toned patina that only ages gracefully. Faarup Møbelfabrik, a respected Danish workshop, was known for producing high-quality teak furniture in the 1970s and 1980s, often collaborating with top designers like Kofod-Larsen.
Ideal for a home office, study nook, bedroom, or small-space dining area, this compact desk offers exceptional functionality without sacrificing aesthetic refinement. Its petite scale makes it versatile for both classic Danish Modern and contemporary interiors.
A graceful and highly usable Danish Modern writer's desk attributed to Ib Kofod-Larsen for Faarup Møbelfabrik — timeless teak craftsmanship in a rare petite format.

The mix of solid and veneered Burmese teak shows only minor signs of vintage wear such as surface scratches and light nicks (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos and natural light video provided). With that said the wood is in overall excellent shape showing no stains, water rings or other signs of wear whatsoever and the variegated woodgrains of the teak are absolutely stunning in natural light. All three drawers open and close with ease and the top lock functions with the accompanying key. This utilitarian, petite desk is functional, structurally sound and ready for a lifetime more of use. Please view all photos and natural light video provided for details on this desk's current condition. We're limited on the amount of media we can post so additional photos and videos are available upon request. less
