1940’s large Waylande Gregory Art Deco Glazed Ceramic Rooster Sculpture
Waylande Desantis Gregory, (1905 - 1971), was one of the most innovative and prolific American art-deco ceramics sculptors of the early 20th century. Known for his groundbreaking techniques and glazes.
The large rooster is a favorite! The soft curves and lines are striking in its simplicity and modernism. Soft white smooth as glass glaze. The piece has no markings as many did not. But the work is so easily identifiable.
