Decorate a garden, patio, or poolside setting with this charming cast stone fountain figure composition. Crafted in France circa 1960, the sculptural grouping depicts a young peasant woman leaning beside a rustic stone well while filling a large water vessel. Dressed in flowing countryside attire with a tied headscarf, the graceful female figure is rendered with soft facial features and detailed drapery, conveying a peaceful pastoral spirit.
The antique garden ornament is mounted on a separate fluted cylindrical pedestal inspired by classical columns, elevating the composition and giving it strong vertical presence. The sculpture is richly detailed throughout, from the stacked stone well and carved flowers to the handled urn resting beneath the spout. The weathered cast stone surface adorns a beautifully aged patina with subtle surface discoloration and natural outdoor character consistent with age and exposure.
This decorative garden figure would make an elegant focal point in a landscape, around a pool or courtyard, and could also be incorporated into a fountain design. The piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use.
