The desk features a rectangular inset olive green leather writing surface with a gilt tooled border framed by a molded walnut edge. Designed as a true partners desk, the piece is finished on all sides and fitted with eight drawers total, arranged with four drawers on each side. The drawer configuration includes opposing long central drawers flanked by smaller locking drawers fitted with working keys and brass escutcheons. Drawer interiors retain visible dovetail construction and aged secondary wood. The desk is raised on turned legs joined by an architectural stretcher base incorporating both ring-turned and spiral-turned elements accented by carved central finials. Paneled sides, faceted corner blocks, molded drawer fronts, and the strong horizontal silhouette reflect the influence of 17th century French Louis XIII forms while maintaining the refined practicality of a late 19th century library or writing desk.
