1960s Wilrongo by Witco "Daisies" painting with wood accents, signed lower right, and including original paperwork. Witco was known for its kitschy, often tiki-inspired art and wood carvings. "Wilrongo" is not a single artist, but a combination of the names of the founder, Wiliam Westenhaver, and his partners, Ron Hovde and Gordon Robb. The paintings that combine wood carving are now hard to find, and the Daisies piece rarely comes up.
This is a fun, cheery piece with its white daisies and olive green from the iconic Mid Century Modern color palette. It is large enough to stand alone on a wall, or serve as an anchor piece in a larger gallery display.
