Giovanni De Simone (Palermo, October 28, 1930 – Palermo, March 26, 1991) was an Italian ceramicist.
After training in Faenza, where he attended the Institute of Ceramic Art, he opened the workshop "Maioliche d'Arte De Simone" in Palermo in the 1950s. There, he produced traditional, hand-painted ceramics and decorative tiles for walls and furniture. Over the years, he became one of the most important figures in Sicilian ceramics. His artistic development later led him to works inspired by Primitivism.
The artist is known for his vibrant and naive depictions. This piece has an attribution mark,
