An excellent example of 20th-century American furniture manufacturing, this two-piece chest-on-chest is constructed in premium, richly figured mahogany with a warm, glowing finish.

The upper section features an impressive open swan-neck pediment culminating in finely carved rosettes, flanking a central flame and cartouche finial. The pediment is further adorned with an elaborately carved shell and flowing acanthus scrollwork. The top drawer configuration has three small drawers over two split drawers and three full-width graduated drawers, all flanked by classic fluted pilasters.

The lower base section houses a long shallow drawer over a three-drawer configuration. The central bottom drawer features a carved scallop shell motif framed by scroll borders. The highboy sits atop acanthus-carved cabriole legs terminating in ball-and-claw feet. The drawers are equipped with heavy, high-quality solid brass pierced batwing backplates and bail pulls.

A commanding, highly functional statement piece ideal for a formal bedroom, dining room, or executive office.
