Hand-painted in classic underglaze cobalt on a creamy white ground. The central register features a figural scene of a scholar or sage with attendants in a garden pavilion setting, framed by scattered floral and butterfly sprigs around the body. The shoulders and base are encircled by raised "nailhead" bosses, a traditional reference to the hide-and-nail construction of ancient Chinese drums. The flat top is pierced with the classic auspicious "double coin" or cash motif — a square center surrounded by four oval cutouts — and bordered by hand-painted floral roundels.
