The 31th of january 1971 the danish ferry 'm/s prinsesse margrethe' collided/ran aground on the swedish cliff-island kullen. The bow of the ship was severely damaged but salvaged before it was repaired. This lamp base is in other words made from repurposed sheets of thick steel from the original bow. This is also what is says beneath its base along with an un-identified signature nea.
